European hotels show signs of recovery | Deloitte Reports
Recent analysis by Deloitte, the business advisory firm, has found that recovery in European hotel performance is on the horizon. Demand has experienced an upturn since October 2009, before pushing into positive territory in December 2009 – up 4.2%. STR Global results for January 2010 also show a healthy 3.3% increase in the region against January 2009.

Lithuania one of the fastest growing cities and commercial center in the world and its capital city, Vilnius, is one of the most attractive tourist places in Europe.

The main tourist destination in Vilnius is the Old Town, where you can see various architectural styles of different decades within centuries.  The main attractions are:

• Gediminas Tower - The Gediminas Tower is the oldest building and is recognized as the symbol of Vilnius and Lithuania.  In fact, it is depicted on the national currency and even in their poems and songs.

• Cathedral Square - Cathedral Square is famous for street fairs, parades, concert etc.

• Vilnius TV Tower - Vilnius TV tower is the tallest building in Lithuania.

• Castle of Trakai - Another favorite tourist destination is the Castle of Trakai.  It was built centuries ago on an island in Lake Galve.  Since then, it has been renovated and developed.  A museum decorated with a number of art and crafts items has been established.  Needless to say, the Castle of Trakai holds significant history.

If you are looking for a hotel, most Lithuania hotels provide comparatively inexpensive deals with exciting offers. The hotels are usually neat, clean and well-arranged.  Budget accommodations are also available if your budget is tight.  There are many good facilities available.

The best time to visit Lithuania is during summer and spring.  However, as in other places, be prepared to spend more money when visiting during peak season.  Online hotel booking can still provide you good deals even during peak season.  This can be in the form of a discounted price or by giving some gift items.

Most hotels in Lithuania have a feel of medieval period.  They showcase the glorifying history of Lithuania which many has attempted to demolish.  Still, visitors can experience a taste of the old luxury that kings used to enjoy in these hotels.

In the year 2000, the new administrative system of Lithuania is came into the limelight.  The country is divided into three tier administrative divisions.  These divisions are further divided into ten counties and are subdivided into sixty municipalities.  The municipalities are again further divided into five hundred elderates.  The elderates are the smallest division of government and are intended to solve the basic problem of the people.

It is good to note that the government is determined to establish Vilnius as the cultural hub of Europe and determined to provide the best governance to its citizen.

has anyone traveled to lithuania? i want to take my boyfriend to lithuania and maybe watch a soccer game…without contacting a travel agent just yet, cuz i find them to be a little pressuring….anyone know of a good way to make a trip like that? any good sites we HAVE to see? about how much can a trip like that range? hotels? food? advice? Ive never been to out of the US, so this is all new to me. any advice will be appreciated. when is soccer usually going on?

I have looked online and have had a mix of good and bad reviews as well as great and horrible reviews. Can anyone tell me what they think. My main concern was hearing that the hotels were dirty and very far from main attractions.  I would be staying in what they call their superior tourist hotels but they don’t say what the exact hotel is.  Has anyone traveled with any other company and if so which is better?

This will be my first time going to Vegas. I live in Florida and my Mom lives in Michigan. I want to surprise her in September with this trip. We will be leaving from each of our separate airports and I would like for us to arrive around the same time. I would appreciate any travel tips anyone has about deals , hotel , car rentals, must do things while there, best hotels. Thank you !
